The Acorn pommel is quite light and lively, with an average weight of 261g / 8.7oz. Many people love this pommel on their 42″ Practice rapiers for balance just a little bit ahead of the guard. Although it looks sharp and triangular, the edges are quite smooth and the shape lends itself to large wrist motion without bumping.
Any variation on Style (facets or flutes) reduces the weight of the pommel by a very slight amount – but this one looks pretty emoji-shaped when done with the Spiral Flutes (just sayin’)
