This style of English baskethilt is seen starting around 1600. They varied somewhat in the style of saltire that filled in the guard, and most had the hollow round pommel, though some were quite squat. Ours is fairly generic and make a nice baskethilt for practice. It comes normally with a practice broadsword (DA4BD) blade, but can be upgraded to a backsword blade (DA4BA) for an additional $40.
This one is pictured with a backsword.
