I was back and forth on a spadroon from a few different armories, and after looking around and trying out some of the other fencers blades made by Darkwood, I decided to order mine. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with the weapon – it is balanced superbly, and strong enough that after a pretty hard bout against a Polish-style saber, it merely needed the pommel tightened slightly. The fit and finish of the blade, hilt, grip, quillons and shell are top notch. A friend of mine summed it up well, “This is a gentleman’s sword you could wear to court, but if people wanna throw down, you could throw the hell down.” Should I need another blade, I don’t think I’d hesitate to recommend Darkwood Armory, their swords are amazing!

This was my first order from DA, and easily has become my favorite sword in my collection. Light, nimble, and a surprisingly good cutter, even with the narrow blade. They met my specifications to the letter and exceeded them, down to the mounting points they very charitably added to the scabbard for me. The sword is a constant companion now, and will remain so,
