0.040″ Tempered spring 1050 steel, rather than just hardened steel, gives our incredibly lightweight shield bosses much longer wear and tear.
The boss bolts to your flat shield blank with five or six fasteners, giving about 5.5 inches of boss with 2″ to 2.5″ in depth at the top of the bowl.
(The inner diameter of the boss I picked up is 5.5″ across, and about 2.25″ deep at the center. ) Then you can fasten the handle shape of your choice – tube, leather, etc. We’ve shown Sir Brian’s personal shield back only as a suggestion.
Please choose your favorite shape –pentagon –STAR– hexagon – lobate– ROUND (see pictures for the names). They all weigh about the same, which is practically nothing! (Ship weight is 1lb because of size.. actual weight is about 10 oz.)

Please note: if you are going to install one of these onto a rounded shield front, they will need to have shims under some of the bolts. They do not bend to form around a curved shield, sorry.
