The Closed Port Swept Hilt rapier is actually one of the earlier styles shown as AVBN 74 and quite popular because it gives frontal protection to the hand and yet is an “open” hilt style. The hilt is round stock and the plate comes in a pattern of your choice from one of our standards. This one is pictured with a Zebrawood handle but the starting price is for a standard wooden (walnut, cherry, maple, oak) handle. It weighs 2.3 lbs when assembled with a DA1 Practice rapier.
