DA1 Practice Rapier Blade

The Darkwood Armory Practice Rapier blade has set the standard for the practitioners of rapier fencing throughout the United States and much of the world. The first Practice Rapier was designed by US and made by Fulvio DelTin for a number of years before we decided to take over their manufacture ourselves. At 42″ long, it was the first and best simulator to be used in historical rapier fencing. They are narrower, lighter and slightly whippier than the Bated blades, which works well for those who only get to practice once or twice a week – easier on the muscles and wrists! If you want one that is stiffer, we can make it since they are all handmade.

Shoulder width: 1/2″ – 5/8″ (they are all hand ground, so there’s a bit of variation)
