Absolutely love this! So I asked if they could customize the hilt to match thr Morozzo’s “Opera Nova” blade – so no knuckle bow and remove the side ring and two posts and just keep the two finger rings. It came in and absolutely in love with it. I actually ordered it as a cheaper Pell beater and am keeping my Castile for competitions but I’m finding I really like it even better. The Destreza blade gives it more of a blade presence in the bind which helps it over-power the other rapiers.and side swords I have fought against (especially if you bin them on that fat strong right above the Riccaso. With my modifications to the hilt I’m able to fit my lacrosse gloves in all the quillions and being I fight sword and buckler I have yet to get any hand snipes on me but maybe if you fight something else the other quillions may help but you may need a smaller glove. One thing I didn’t realize I would love so much is the little triangle in the middle of the cross guard as when I put my fore finger in one of the rings over the cross guard my thumb naturally rests on that triangle and it is VERY comfortable and adds to the handling. The P.O.B is about 2 inches from the finger rings so maybe 4 1/2 inches from the cross guard and feels VERY nimble in hand for point control but still enough blade presence to hold your own against other side swords and rapiers. The 38inches is a good length without getting annoyingly long and the threading is an M6 which I have swapped out with other pommels for design or I have even used an M6 to M8 thread adapter and places the PENTII longsword aluminum pommel and even the bastard sword aluminum pommel extension, both are the same weight and thus bring the P.O.B to right at the finger rings for.amazing point control and with the extension you MAY be able to use for longsword (so it may be able to pull double duty in a pinch). Spatulated tip is also nice for training safety.
Not a full 5 stars as my model ther is a VERY slight wave in the weak of the blade but it isn’t too bad. The cross guard also has a slight bend on on side it may be because of shipping though as when I got it one of the cross guard had ripped through the box, but it wasn’t bad enough for it to interfere with use. The wooden grip is a little off, but useable (like I said I was originally getting this as a cheaper Pell beater to save my Castile for competition) . The spatulated tip makes the plastic stopped unable to fit out of the bag without modification so I contributed mine to our Clubs” stock for other blades. Also blade edges aren’t as smoothed down as a Castile but for the price point it’s good and heavier blade made it dominate on the bind. Plus the pluses above really put into perspective these items as more as not picks.
But in all, definitely happy with it and this custom design. Had some club mates try it out and they liked it as well so maybe you’ll get some follow up orders in the future

Comparing this to the Hanwei Tinker line as well as to Castile Armory small feder line ( as well as other blades I handled). I also got this blade on the complete Deztreza side sword.
Good blade, thicker strong allows for more blade presence and stronger on the bind especially against rapiers and lighter side swords.
Spatulated tip is great for training safety but not so big to throw off weight. Note the plastic tips don’t fit this spatulated tip without modification or using a more rounded tip.
Edges are not rounded and will get bites, but not too bad – tinker line definitely get chewed up but these were not like that though not as smooth as a Castile.
Not as light as a Castile BUT the weight and blade presence does make it stronger on the bind.
The thread and tang is a bit thicker so does not really fit Castile grips and guards but the will fit at least the Hanwei Tinker longsword cross guard. Threading is M6 with a half inch threading and the tang before threading being around 4 inches I believe with Riccaso 2 inches.
The Riccaso being edged as well means you feel the edges of you place your finger over the cross guard and o the Riccaso, but if you are wearing a glove you can’t feel it and I guess you can put a cover there if you really want.
Fits well into the Deztreza hilt haven’t tried it with any other hilts.
P.O.B with Deztreza hilt is around 2 inches from finger quillions (though I had a customized one without a knuckle bow and the 2 posts and rings) so depending on your pommel and hilt design that could more around.
Mine came with a slight “wave” on the edge on the weak, wasn’t too bad to throw off the blade itself.
I’m all I’m actually really happy with it over-all especially with the price point. Like I said coming from the prices of Castile this is pretty good and doesn’t break the bank if you need to replace. Sadly as stated above, if you are coming from Castile and looking for a budget-minded blade to swap into your hilt, it doesn’t really fit the tang slots or grips I’ve tried (arming sword guards and 4 1/2 inch handle). Though at the price point you may be able to construct a whole other sword.
